Klaus Schulze is a founding member of Tangerine Dream and Ash Ra Tempel, two seminal bands in the evolution of synthesizer-based electronic music. "Dig It" was released on October 31, 1980, and it was a decent change as compared to the previous records. Schulze produced "Dig It" entirely with the aid of the GDS synthesizer (except for the drums), which was a very exclusive digital medium in those days. If you read the reviews after 35 years, it becomes clear that the reporters didn't know how to handle pieces like "Death of an analogue" and "Synthasy". They sure were different as compared to "Dune" or "Ludwig II", but this record offered something completely new.
