The M M E Program 1 is the 1992 debut album by Force One Network. The group was founded by Chopmaster J, a keyboardist for Digital Underground, who brought in a new singer to the scene named Dave Hollister. Hollister would become the primary voice for Teddy Riley's post-Guy project BLACKstreet but this is where it began for him.

In its day Pure Swing was renowned for showcasing future hits, as well as established artists that had emerged out of the New Jack Swing / Swingbeat scene, from the late eighties in the US. This genre was labelled as the first truly acceptable collaboration between Hip Hop and R&B. The likes of R.Kelly, Jodeci, Soul For Real, Bobby Brown, Brandy, Blackstreet, Aaliyah, Coolio, TLC, The Whitehead Brothers, Mary J Blige, Joe, Wreckx-N-Effects, Adina Howard and Montell Jordan appeared on Pure Swing collections, as they were exploding onto the UK scene. Britain eventually embraced this sound, which spawned many home grown artists, Mark Morrison, Shola Ama, Damage, Wayne Marshall and Beverley Knight, to name but a few.

The Funky Headhunter was the fourth album made by MC Hammer, then known as Hammer, in 1994. The album at the time was hailed as MC Hammer's comeback album and was produced by innovative musicians and writers such as Teddy Riley (who had previously produced records for Guy, Blackstreet, and Michael Jackson), The Hines Brothers, and G-Bomb. It also featured Death Row Records head Suge Knight, Whole 9 and Death Row recording artists Tha Dogg Pound. Hammer debuted the album two months before its release on The Arsenio Hall Show and finally released it in March.
