Bad times can make for good art, and the revolutionary feel of the early 2010s – the Occupy movement, and especially the Arab Spring – are at the heart of Firewater's International Orange! Firewater frontman Tod A. recorded this album in Istanbul and Tel Aviv during the 2011 riots, and there's a vital energy in these songs that is almost palpable. Even better, the sense of humor that was downplayed on the band's previous few albums is back in full force, giving the album's first half a bright, buoyant theatricality suggesting that International Orange! could be a musical about those tumultuous times.

Chicago Blues, Delta Blues | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 02:28:14 | MB
Label: Acrobat Records | Release Year: 2015

Before his untimely death in 1963, blues guitarist Elmore James was one of the most influential players in the genre, with a distinctive sound that would inspire everyone from Stevie Ray Vaughan to the Rolling Stones. Though he covered a variety of different blues styles throughout the 1950s, his unique, amped-up tone came from a standard acoustic guitar that he had modified with electric pick-ups. This two-disc collection from the Acrobat label covers all of James' A- & B-side singles from his 1951 debut to the year just before his death. His cover of Robert Johnson's "Dust My Broom" would become one of his signature songs and it leads off this 54-track collection, which also includes standouts like "The Sky Is Crying," "Rollin' and Tumblin'," and "Early in the Morning." This is a solid introduction to one of the post-war blues' biggest icons.

Country | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 02:22:08 | 351 MB
Label: Acrobat | Release Year: 2016

Skeeter Davis never received much critical attention, but in the '50s and '60s, she recorded some of the most accessible crossover country music, occasionally skirting rock & roll. Born Mary Penick, Davis took her last name after forming a duo with Betty Jack Davis, the Davis Sisters. Their 1953 single "I Forgot More Than You'll Ever Know" was a big country hit; its B-side, the remarkable "Rock-a-Bye Boogie," foreshadowed rockabilly. That same year, however, the duo's career was cut short by a tragic car accident in which Betty Jack was killed and Skeeter was severely injured. Skeeter did attempt to revive the Davis Sisters with Betty Jack's sister but was soon working as a solo artist.

Today at the age of 79, Clarence lives comfortably in New Orleans performing on occasion, usually at the annual New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival secure in the knowledge the body of work featured on this CD is amongst the greatest to come out of New Orleans.

Seals & Crofts ‎- Summer Breeze (1972) BS 2629 - US Pressing - LP/FLAC In 24bit/96kHz - ONLY RE-POST

Seals & Crofts ‎- Summer Breeze
Label: Warner Bros. Records/BS 2629 | Release: 1976 | Genre: Country-Folk
Vinyl | LP Cover (1:1) | FLAC | 24bit/96kHz & 16bit/44kHz

Featuring "Hummingbird" and "Summer Breeze"
Summer Breeze offered an unusually ambitious array of music within a soft rock context – most artists tried to avoid weighty subjects in such surroundings (except, of course, CSN or Simon & Garfunkel, who could pretty much get away with anything). The title track is one of those relentlessly appealing 1970s harmony-rock anthems, in the same mode as the Doobie Brothers' "Listen to the Music" and appropriately ubiquitous on the radio and in the memory; the guitar (electric and acoustic) and vocal hooks are all well-nigh irresistible. The rest varies in sound and focus.

Blues, RnB, Soul | MP3 CBR 320 kbps | 02:33:32 | 362 MB
Label: Jasmine Records | Release Year: 2016

Shambolic - not a word often used to describe musicians, their recordings or their careers but in the case of Rosco Gordon it seems to fit. Certainly his piano stylings are often referred to as shambolic, however his looping piano style and his ability to place an accent on the offbeat helped to form the foundation of bluebeat and ska in Jamaica. Presented here are the A & B sides of every release he made up to 1961, major hits include "Booted", "No More Doggin'", "Saddle The Cow" plus great tracks such as "Just A Little Bit". This is the first time his exciting recordings have been presented in this way. An undeniably original talent whose contributions to the development of popular music cannot underestimated and this collection fully demonstrates that.
