BLUT AUS NORD - Spectral Subsonic Waves (The Sound Is An Organic Matter)As is their wont, BLUT AUS NORD follows up 2014’s classicist Memoria Vetusta III – a truly iconic album of epic, beauteous and atmospheric Black Metal – with a dichotomous trip further into unfathomable realms of the Black Metal avant-garde. This is yet another new way.The 4 pieces that comprise Spectral Subsonic Waves spring from the interstices between outsider black metal, noise, dark ambient, electronic psychedelia and 20th Century classical.ÆVANGELIST - Threshold Of The Miraculous. In a seamless transition from fevered mind into fever dream, ÆVANGELIST produce possibly the strongest single track of their rapidly burgeoning oeuvre - 20 minutes of sepulchrally intimidating, haunted and horrendous experimental black metal.
Obscura is a German technical death metal band from Landshut, Germany. The band became prominent when members of Necrophagist and Pestilence joined Steffen Kummerer to release the critically acclaimed second full-length album, Cosmogenesis. Obscura are known for playing highly sophisticated music, with several band members having studied music theory. Obscura's discography draws significant philosophical influences from Arthur Schopenhauer, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and Friedrich Schelling, whose writings on Naturphilosophie formed the conceptual basis for their lyrics. Akróasis is the fourth album by Obscura. “Akroasis” landed at position #5 on the Top New Artist Albums…
It has been five years since the release of OBSCURA's universally acclaimed "Omnivium" album. Now the progressive metal masters return with their strongest and most dynamic release to date. The aptly named "Akróasis" (Greek for "hearing" or "listening") draws on all the various elements of OBSCURA's signature sound and combines those qualities into a cohesive and mind-blowing whole. Produced by the band and V. Santura (TRIPTYKON, PESTILENCE), "Akróasis" is eight songs diverse enough to serve as a near-comprehensive introduction to all of extreme metal. Packed to the gills with virtuosic musicianship, compelling themes, and airtight songwriting, "Akróasis" will undoubtedly breathe new life into death metal, progressive metal and beyond.
