This book is very well organized and clearly written and contains an adequate supply of exercises. If one is comfortable with the choice of topics in the book, it would be a good candidate for a text in a graduate real analysis course.

University mathematics departments have for many years offered courses with titles such as Advanced Calculus or Introductory Real Analysis. These courses are taken by a variety of students, serve a number of purposes, and are written at various levels of sophistication. The students range from ones who have just completed a course in elementary calculus to beginning graduate students in mathematics.

by Miklós Laczkovich (Author), Vera T. Sós (Author)

Presents core ideas of analysis “as a way of thinking” as opposed to “a body of facts”

Explains how and why ideas arise, then how they evolve to the mature notions of real analysis
