Charming Hostess is a whirl of eerie harmony, hot rhythm and radical braininess. Our music explores the intersection of text and the sounding body– complex ideas expressed physically, based on voice and vocal percussion, handclaps and heartbeats, sex-breath and silence. We live where diasporas collide, incorporating piyyutim and Pygmy counterpoint, doo-wop and niggunim, work songs and Torah chanting. The texts speak of mysticism and sex; angels and demons; and the trials and joys of love and sex…

I wanted to find something easy, but in the end I decided on this title because I wanted to say more, to create a different atmosphere. It’s the combination of the lyrical quality of pink (rosa), and the passion of red (rojo), with no political message, just flamenco. ~ "El Bola"

The Pixies are an American alternative rock band that formed in Boston in 1986. The group disbanded in 1993. The band's style of alternative rock music is heavily influenced by punk and indie rock, and while highly melodic, is capable of being abrasive at the same time. While the Pixies found only modest success in their home country, they were significantly more successful in the United Kingdom and elsewhere in Europe, although never achieving mainstream success with their studio albums.

The follow up to 2005's hugely successful Moves On was recorded over the last three and a half years at Red Bull Studios and The Lab, with mixing duties performed at bandleader Andrew Spraggon's home studio in Pt. Chevalier, AK. Picking up where the performance-based Moves On album left off in 2005, theres a sweating, smoking live band at the heart of the new record, made up of long-term members of the Rosa roster, Will Scott (drums), Matt Short (bass) & Ben White (guitar).
