Enjoy the bands first studio release since 2006. Shooting Star 2015 is more classic rock oriented with a strong melodic rock foundation, and a young, energetic new singer Todd Pettygrove.
Circles is the seventh album by the group Shooting Star. It is the first album to feature founding drummer Steve Thomas since 1985's Silent Scream; as well as the last album to feature original bassist Ron Verlin prior to his retirement from the band in 2009; and the only album to feature vocalist Kevin Chalfant (The Storm, 707, Steel Breeze, Journey) and violinist Shane Michaels.
Leap of Faith is the seventh album by the group Shooting Star. It is the last Shooting Star album to feature vocalist Keith Mitchell and drummer Rod Lincoln; as well as the only album to feature violinist Christian Howes. If you're already a Shooting Star fan, then this is a must-have album. It should also satisfy fans of both old school AOR mainstays like Journey, Foreigner, and REO Speedwagon as well as modern melodic rock acts Harem Scarem, Lost Weekend, and Emerald Rain.
It's Not Over is the sixth album by the group Shooting Star. This is the first Shooting Star album not to feature founding members Gary West, Steve Thomas, and Charles Waltz; and the first to feature their replacements: vocalist Keith Mitchell, keyboardist Dennis Laffoon, and drummer Rod Lincoln. It is also the first Shooting Star album to feature original bassist Ron Verlin since 1983's Burning.
For their fifth album, Silent Scream, songwriters Gary West (vocals) and Van McLain (guitar) finally produced a collection of tracks worthy of their 1979 self-titled debut. Although on Silent Scream, Shooting Star departs from their classic rock beginnings, the duo came through with a set of strong, memorable melodies and some of the band's most heartfelt material. In addition, McLain and West showed a sense of lyrical maturity and focus which was lacking on previous efforts, and all of the tracks here are inspired and delivered with equal parts emotional intensity and genuine sincerity.
Burning is the fourth album by the group Shooting Star. It was the final album with founding bassist Ron Verlin (who departed the band in late 1983) until 1991's It's Not Over. Billboard Top Album #162, on chart for 6 weeks.
III Wishes is the third album by the group Shooting Star. This is the band's first album without keyboardist Bill Guffey, who had departed the band the previous year. This release was much lighter than the first two releases. "Heartache" is one of their best ballads.
