With all due respect to Randy Bachman, this album shows clearly where the real heart and soul of BTO lies. C.F. Turner's vocals and bass are better than ever, and with Robin Bachman and Blair Thornton back on board, the band sounds as good as it has since Not Fragile…

The Parliament of Trees made him the master of all plants. The Parliament of Stones gave him control of the earth on which they grow. And the Parliament of Waves put the waters of the world at his command. With all of this power flowing through his veins, the elemental being known as the Swamp Thing has become like unto a god. And, just like many of the gods that preceded him, he has grown wrathful in his judgment of mankind's sins. Now, as he undergoes a final, terrifying trial in the purifying fire of the Parliament of Flames, the creature who was once Alec Holland holds the future of humanity in his cold, mossy hands. And while the Swamp Thing's ties to his human side continue to weaken, dark forces are maneuvering to claim his power for their own. In the end, enemies and allies alike-including his estranged wife Abby and the master magician John Constantine-must make a last-ditch appeal to the man within the monster. If they fail, the choice is stark: kill the Swamp Thing before he completes his trial, or perish along with the rest of Homo sapiens.

Trial by Fire is the tenth studio album by American rock band Journey. Released on October 22, 1996, the album marked the reunion of the classic 1980s lineup, which had not recorded together since 1983's Frontiers. The album reflected a growing maturity with the members of Journey and could be loosely termed a concept album with many tracks reflecting a more overt spirituality in lyrical content. Trial by Fire includes the Top 20 hit and Grammy nominated single "When You Love a Woman", which reached No. 12 and No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts respectively. On November 9, 1996, the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 and was eventually certified platinum in the United States…

Though it was short-lived,Journey's 1996 comeback "Trial By Fire" featured the classic trademark Steve Perry-led Journey sound of polished pop-rock(Message Of Love,Castles Burning,Can't Tame The Lion and the bonus track I Can See It In Your Eyes) and soulful power ballads(their last big hit When You Love A Woman,Don't Be Down On Me Baby,Easy To Fall and If He Should Break Your Heart)with some other things thrown in,like even a pop-reggae number Baby I'm A Leavin You.

Medieval judicial ordeals, especially trial by fire or battle, conjure up vivid pictures in the modern imagination. Yet popular perceptions of the Middle Ages leave the reader without a context in which to understand these most drastic of medieval judicial remedies.
