This superb DVD is a new and unique way to have fun, study and jam all at the same time. The DVD contains three top quality backing tracks, and can be approached in two ways, first you can "JAM" with the tracks flying solo, experimenting with different ideas, licks and solos. Alternatively you can trade solos with Tom, drawing inspiration from the ideas and techniques used in his solos.
For his latest tutorial, Tom presents a complete method for learning and seeing harmony on the fretboard. With 4 hours of 1080p video content, Tom teaches pure fretboard visualisation for static and changes based harmony with masses of examples, assignments and diagrams, all tabbed out in standard and Tom's 4ths tuning.
This is the first part of my extensive 5 hour Legato tutorial forming a definitive guide to the modern legato sound. Part one is a 1 hour and 20 minute HD lesson covering the basics of the technique for left and right hand, hybrid picking inclusion, time feel and sub-division playing, 16th note scalar lines, arpeggio usage in lines plus cyclical legato line playing. The lesson includes a 14 page PDF file with every line TABBED in standard tuning and right hand picking directions to play the phrases exactly the way I do. Close up shots of both the left and right hand give you a great insight into this technique, all filmed with high quality cameras for superb video footage.
Part 3 of Tom's Modern Legato series is finally here and is his biggest tutorial yet. In this 1 hour 50min video lesson, Tom breaks down his methods and thought processes for creating his trademark flowing legato lines, bringing together all of the knowledge and technical skills from parts 1 and 2 into a fantastic resource for developing a modern legato style in any genre. Tom focuses on a detailed but easy to understand fragment approach to line construction and also tackles rhythmic awareness and accuracy, utilising melodic minor scales/modes and using legato in changes based playing. The tutorial includes 14 pages of lines and transcribed solos (in both standard and 4ths tunings) plus backing tracks to practice with. There are hundreds of lines to get to grips and analyse here. Combined with parts one and two this makes for the most comprehensive legato course available!
Hi guys, thanks so much for checking out this first video backing track package from my site. Back in November 2013 I went into Silent City studios with Garry Jackson on Bass and Dave Walsh on Drums to record a series of organic trio based backing tracks that would build and fall naturally for you guys to jam over. The concept was to make cool sounding tracks with real players that would be both fun and challenging to play over and the result is these eleven tracks with close up video of each player.
A unique opportunity to learn from two world class players! Includes lessons, jam tracks and tablature. Lessons by Tom Quayle & Stuart Bull.
