"Go 2" is the second studio album by the English band XTC, released on 6 October 1978. The United Kingdom version contained no singles, but the American and Canadian versions included the single "Are You Receiving Me?" (released 27 October 1978, the same month as the album's release).
Chips from the Chocolate Fireball: An Anthology is a CD-only compilation album from XTC which was released under the pseudonym The Dukes of Stratosphear. It includes both their 1985 mini-album 25 O'Clock and the Psonic Psunspot album from 1987. It was re-released as a part of the XTC reissue series in 2001 with songwriters Sir John Johns and The Red Curtain credited under their real names, and superseded in 2009 by special edition versions of both records with numerous bonus tracks. The Dukes of Stratosphear was a pseudonym used by the British rock band XTC in the mid to late 1980s, concurrently with XTC's continued musical activities. The project was intended as a homage to 1960s pop and psychedelic music by groups such as The Beatles, The Byrds, The Kinks, The Zombies, The Beach Boys, Jefferson Airplane, Pink Floyd and The Pretty Things.
Raindance is the debut album from English musician Clark Datchler. Datchler originally left the successful group Johnny Hates Jazz in 1988 to continue his solo career after previously releasing several solo singles before the joining the group. He moved to Amsterdam and began work on his debut album. The album featured some renowned musicians, including bass player Nathan East, drummer John "JR" Robinson and percussionist Paulinho Da Costa. Also featured was guitarist Dave Gregory of XTC. The album saw Datchler’s first environmental song, "Raindance" – one of several to follow.
1987 album for British goth-rock act. Highlights include covers of Neil Young's 'Like A Hurricane' & Patti Smith's 'Dancing Barefoot'. Nine tracks. A real gothic album that makes XTC look like children. I have been following this band since the separation of Sistes of Mercy in the 80's. In the later years thier sound was like Led Zeppelin which this previous CD a must for anyone who wants to relive gothic rock.
