"Hello (Turn Your Radio On)" is a song by the UK/US pop duo Shakespears Sister and was the penultimate single released from their second album Hormonally Yours. The single peaked at no.14 in the UK singles chart. As with most singles from the album it was released as a two part pack including two other remixes and, on most formats, the Andre Betts Remix of 'Stay'. In the US it was released in July 1992, prior to its release in the UK later that year.
The songs are taken from the "Division of Blood" Bonus DVD. Recorded in Sound Lodge in Germany, Nick Melissourgos and producer Jörg Uken arranged a sound that gives Suicidal Angels’ energetic art the fitting, powerful clothing it deserves. Division of Blood will not only make your stereo raise the roof, but it will also bring several Open Airs and clubs to a boil.
On Jan. 3, 1963 producer-writer Joachim Berendt organized a concert in Germany featuring some of the top American jazzmen who were then residing in Europe. Originally released as 13 songs on two LPs, eight of the performances have been reissued on this single CD; left out are five of the seven numbers from Vol. 1 (three with clarinetist Albert Nicholas and one apiece with bluesmen Champion Jack Dupree and Curtis Jones). The CD contains a pair of fine features for tenor saxophonist Don Byas (including a lengthy workout on "All the Things You Are"), ballad showcases for trumpeter Idrees Sulieman ("I Can't Get Started") and pianist Bud Powell ("'Round Midnight"), two numbers by a trio consisting of guitarist Jimmy Gourley, organist Lou Bennett and drummer Kenny Clarke, and a pair of Bill Smith originals featuring the clarinetist in a quintet with altoist Herb Geller and guitarist Gourley. A fine bop-oriented set of music by a variety of mostly underrated players.
Fierrabras is a three-act German opera with spoken dialogue written by the composer Franz Schubert in 1823, to a libretto by Josef Kupelwieser, the general manager of the Theater am Kärntnertor (Vienna's Court Opera Theatre). Along with the earlier Alfonso und Estrella, composed in 1822, it marks Schubert's attempt to compose grand Romantic opera in German, departing from the Singspiel tradition.
Quickly released a few months after Genesis' reunion tour of the summer of 2007, Live Over Europe 2007 is a 21-track collection that finds Phil Collins, Mike Rutherford, and Tony Banks sampling from every era of the band's career, giving equal emphasis to pop hits and extended prog pieces…
Make no mistake about it….. Of all the bands – let not call them side projects, as they are worth more than that – Ginger has been in whilst in The Wildhearts and without, MV has long held the suspicion that Hey! Hello! is the one he liked best. Originally emerging as part of a three album Pledge project a few years back, the shimmering, sunny completely unashamed rock n roll vibe of the record was at odds with the lyrics (in the way that Ginger’s best songwriting always was) and it spawned the quite fantastic “How I Survived The Punk Rock Wars”. All was set, then, for album number two.
