For many years now, Kalman Balogh has been one of Hungary’s best known Cimbalom players. He has performed with groups such as Muzsikas, Meta, ökrös ensemble, Vizonto and many more. Besides his cooperation with other musicians he has a successful solo career which brings him all over the world. This live CD is recorded together with his Gypsy cimbalom band containing some fine musicians on trumpet, violin, guitar, bass etc. Balogh shows how easy he mixes traditional music with jazz. You will recognize his Hungarian roots and the gypsy spirits taken from many corners of Eastern Europe. But this live Cd also shows his jazz qualities and his experience in other styles such as Klezmer and classical music. A great souvenir after visiting the concert but also a great introduction to the work of one of Hungarians finest musicians.
