Formed in London, England in 1984, FM secured a recording deal with Portrait/Epic later that year and released their debut album Indiscreet in 1986. They went on to release another four more studio albums before eventually disbanding in 1995. The band reunited in 2007 to headline the Firefest festival at Nottingham's Rock City. This appearance resulted in the 2010 release of the band's sixth studio album Metropolis featuring new guitarist Jim Kirkpatrick and FM continue to tour and release new material.
"The Power of the Night" is the only album by hard rock group Metropolis. The album was released on May 9, 2000 through MTM Music Group. The song "The Darkest Side of the Night" was originally featured in the 1989 film Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan. This is a modern AOR classic hands down. You won't find any better than this. Every song is a masterpiece and there are no fillers anywhere. If there is one album that ended 1999 on a bright note it was this one. If ever someone asks me "what is AOR ?" I would give him this CD to listen to. Highly recommended!
Metropolis is a 1927 German expressionist epic science-fiction drama film directed by Fritz Lang. Lang and his wife, Thea von Harbou, wrote the silent film, which starred Brigitte Helm, Gustav Fröhlich, Alfred Abel and Rudolf Klein-Rogge. Erich Pommer produced it in the Babelsberg Studios for Universum Film A.G.. It is regarded as a pioneering work of the science-fiction genre in movies, being among the first feature-length movies of the genre. In 1984 Giorgio Moroder restored and produced the 80-minute 1984 re-release, which had a pop soundtrack written by Moroder and performed by Moroder, Pat Benatar, Bonnie Tyler, Jon Anderson, Adam Ant, Cycle V, Loverboy, Billy Squier, and Freddie Mercury.
When it comes to crime, Belgrade is same as any other modern metropolis, except for having its own serial killers. That blank is filled when a flower salesman begins strangling women. A popular, but very disturbed rock star soon becomes telepathically connected with the killer.
