In a way this album has been over 40 years in the making. Duncan Mackay was playing in a club he started in Johannesburg called the Branch Office, the first venue in South Africa where you could go and hear Prog Rock. Georg Voros (although underage at the time) would go and listen to Duncan. 40 years on Georg approached Duncan to play on and mix a solo album. The Bletchley Park Project grew from this prior collaboration.

From his pioneering Sixties bands (The Pink Finks, Party Machine and Sons of the Vegetal Mother), to his national breakthrough with Daddy Cool, Ross Wilson's place in Australian music history was assured. However, it did not end there. After disbanding Daddy Cool and in an incredible three-year run he formed the short lived 'super group' Mighty Kong, reformed Daddy Cool, produced (amongst others) the mega selling Skyhook's debut album Living In The Seventies, started a record label (Oz Records) with Glenn Wheatley and formed Mondo Rock. From 1976 - 1978 the band, initially called Ross Wilson's Mondo Rock, honed their live skills on a seemingly endless series of one night stands across the country. The lineup took some time to gel, eventually settling with Peter Laffy (guitar), Randy Bulpin (guitar), Tony Slavich (keyboards), Simon Gyllies (bass) and Iain McLennan (drums). It was this lineup who recorded the half studio / half live debut Primal Park. The deluxe reissue of Primal Park adds the 19.

One More Light is a moment in time. It’s built on personal stories, sweat-stained and reeling from injuries the product of six voices, each coming clean about their lives and struggles, as if it were the first time. We get an unobstructed view into what makes the band tick as people, fathers, husbands, musicians, and friends.

Korean-born but a political exile in Germany for the last 25 years of his life, Isang Yun (1917-1995) managed to create a workable synthesis between western and eastern traditions, which fused a musical language based upon the total serialism of the post-war avant garde with elements drawn from both Korean and Chinese traditional styles. The three pieces here, all composed in the 1980s, show just how expressively effective that synthesis could be. In the First Chamber Symphony, it allows Yun to create a richly cushioned sound-world, full of shimmering textures, hazy microtones and supple, swooping gestures, while the rich string layering and urgent melodic writing of Tapis and the evocations of the sound of the Chinese harp in Gong-Hu, for solo harp and string orchestra, create music that is instantly attractive, even if the details of its inner workings are not always obvious.

Before he went on to direct the smash-hit films La La Land and Whiplash, Damien Chazelle began his career with Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench. A jazz musical film written and directed by Chazelle while he attended Harvard, Guy and Madeline tells the story of a young couple, an up-and-coming trumpeter and an aimless introvert, whose relationship falls apart as the glow of their new love fades. Heartbreak, hope and regret follow as the two try to find meaning in their new lives apart from one another. Chazelle was steadfast that a film so focused on the world of jazz and tap would need an excellent score. Luckily fellow Harvard student Justin Hurwitz was recruited to the challenge of composing Guy and Madeline, which he flourished at. Hurwitz meshes the classic big band sound of early 20th century jazz sensibilities with smaller progressive ensemble pieces and lyrics written by Chazelle to delightful results. Now available for the first time, Guy and Madeline shows the early genesis of a Hollywood partnership that would be responsible for multiple modern classics.

This film, three years in the making, The remote forests of Kalkalpen National Park in Austria, the largest area of wilderness in the European Alps, have been left untouched by humans for nearly a quarter of a century in order to return to their natural, primeval state. The landscape regenerates itself in dramatic cycles of growth and decay, and this bold hands-off method of conservation yields salient results: the lynx, absent from the area for 115 years, has returned.

Award-winning professional vocal ensemble, Tenebrae mark their 15th anniversary season with a celebratory re-release of Joby Talbot s 'Path of Miracles', as well as the premiere recording of a new work by Owain Park. Inspired by the pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, 'Path of Miracles' has quickly become a contemporary classic among choral music fans. Tenebrae commissioned British composer Owain Park to compose his new work 'Footsteps' as a companion piece to 'Path of Miracles', and one which allows Tenebrae to perform alongside choirs near its touring locations.
