Beat Dis is the 1988 hit single by Bomb The Bass, a group where the centerpiece is Tim Simenon. This is similar to M|A|R|R|S' "Pump Up The Volume" where the core of the song is nothing but samples mixed together in a megamix fashion to create a solid dance track. The success of this song would lead to Bomb The Bass recording a full album but this focuses on the song. The CD5 from West Germany features four different mixes of the hit.

Houses Of The Holy is the fifth album by Led Zeppelin released in 1973. This is the first digital version of this album released around 1988, the "West German Target". It is unremastered, a flat transfer of the existing master tape at the time. You can hear a portion of one of the tape flaws at the very beginning of "Dancing Days". With that exception, this sounds very good and some consider this better than what Atlantic did with different remasterings over the years.

Chariots Of Fire is the 1981 soundtrack by Vangelis to the movie of the same name. This is the original West German Polydor pressing, the first digital release of this album, thus it is considered "unremastered" compared to later editions. "Jerusalem" is performed by The Ambrosian Singers.

A year removed from his work organizing the Live Aid concerts to raise money and awareness concerning famine in Africa, ex-Boomtown Rat lead singer Bob Geldof released his solo debut. Deep in the Heart of Nowhere features a host of name performers ranging from Midge Ure (Ultravox) to Brian Setzer (Stray Cats) to Eric Clapton lending a hand. The lyrics are a bit self-conscious and overreaching at moments, but, with all of the talent on board, the album does have some winning tracks. The single, This Is the World Calling, barely scraped into the charts, but is an anthemic plea to the cosmos with a heavenly background vocal trio of Maria Mckee, Annie Lennox, and Alison Moyet…

…The resulting album offered lean, crisp, and generally bracing accounts of the group's then-current sound – a mix of pop/rock highlighted by some prodigious musicianship – and a four-minute glimpse of its progressive rock past in the guise of the "In the Cage Medley," containing "Cinema Show" from Selling England by the Pound. Phil Collins is in good voice throughout and the playing is often impressive, achieving some excitement and intimacy despite the arena-sized audiences to which the group was now playing…

Hard rock supergroup the Firm united former Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page with onetime Free and Bad Company frontman Paul Rodgers; bassist Tony Franklin and ex-Uriah Heep drummer Chris Slade completed the lineup, founded in 1984. The Firm is their eponymous debut studio album, released by Atlantic Records on 11 February 1985. Tracks ranged from the epic "Midnight Moonlight" based on a previously unreleased song by Led Zeppelin called "Swan Song", first tinkered with during the Physical Graffiti sessions, to the commercially successful "Radioactive". "Closer" employs a horn section to subtle effect.
