Adelmo Fornaciari is the real name of the talented Italian musician more commonly known to the world by his nickname Zucchero ("Sugar"), given to him by an elementary school teacher. Although not particularly well known in the United States, Adelmo "Zucchero" Fornaciari has been a fixture on the Italian rock scene since his 1985 debut. In 2005 he helped to introduce himself to the American public when he released Zucchero & Co., an album of duets with artists like Sting, Eric Clapton, B.B. King, and Sheryl Crow. The next year, with the help of producer Don Was, Zucchero issued Fly, a record that, though it is sung in Italian, has enough comfortable adult pop elements that it should probably appeal to foreign listeners as well as to his compatriot base…

Miserere is the sixth studio album by Italian blues rock singer-songwriter Zucchero Fornaciari released in 1992 by Polydor Records. It topped the album charts in Italy for 13 weeks, being certified 7x Platinum in Italy, and Platinum in Switzerland (#8). The album includes notable collaborations; Elvis Costello co-wrote the track "Miss Mary", U2's Bono was responsible for the English version of the "Miserere", the first of several future collaborations, recorded with Luciano Pavarotti, Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile co-wrote two tracks ("Ridammi Il Sole", "It's All Right (La Promessa)"), as well guest appearance by Wayne Jackson and Andrew Love (#7, #8) from The Memphis Horns.
